today is Moogle's 1st Gotcha Day! incoming cat pic photo dump

We adopted Moogle¹ from a local animal rescue on May 21, 2025. He was exactly two months old on that day. I have never had an orange cat, but I quickly learned that the "one brain cell" jokes are true. He is the third cat in our household, and he gets along well with his big sisters! He's definitely the annoying little brother who always wants to roughhouse and cuddle.

When he was still a kitten, he would hop onto my lap while I was working at my desk and want to be held like a baby. He'd fall asleep with me carrying him like that. Eventually I learned I could tuck him into my zipped-up hoodie - he'd sleep there for an hour sometimes.

After he got fixed, we opted to put a soft donut-style cone on him rather than the harder plastic kind. It still prevented him from trying to lick at himself while he healed, but seemed to be more comfortable and easier for him to adjust to.

Common nicknames for Moogle include:

• M'oogie (said like m'lady)

What a darling creature. I adore him. He's so cuddly and playful, and he's the most vocal of our 3 cats. He loves sprinting up and down the stairs and trying to sneak into the laundry room when I'm in there.
